Facebook has changed the way Reviews work on Business Pages and has turned the Reviews to Recommendations. We all know how important a review is for any type of business and with most review sites there is a numerical scale ranging from 1 (awful) to 5 (fantastic). Facebook has changed the game to a simple Yes or No recommendation.

Facebook states “People can easily indicate if they recommend your business to others by simply answering “Yes” or “No”, and can explain why with tags, text and photos. By selecting a tag, they can help themes emerge in the feedback from Recommendations, making it easier for potential customers to see what your business is known for.”

Now for anyone that manages a business page on the Facebook platform you know that a Review cannot be deleted or removed by a Page Owner. The review is there no matter if it is a legit review or not and if the review is not legitimate, the page owner has the ability to report it to Facebook. Facebook will them determine if the review was legitimate or not and either leave it or remove it.

We have not seen any circumstances as of yet that a NO Recommendation has been removed for not being legitimate so we will have to wait and see about this new process.

As with any new change that Facebook rolls out there are going to be bumps in the road until time passes and it gets put through trials and tribulations so we will take a wait and see approach on this one.
